Garage Door and Gate Service Built for Minnesota Winters

When a January cold snap locks your door to the slab, a spring lets go at five below, or a drifted gate refuses to swing, you need someone who picks up the phone at any hour. Loyalty Garage Door And Gates repairs, maintains and installs residential garage doors, openers and driveway gates across the Twin Cities metro.

Day or night, weekday or holiday: the line is answered around the clock.

What We Fix, Tune Up and Install

Every service below is available to homeowners throughout Hennepin, Ramsey and Dakota County communities. Pick the one closest to your problem, or simply call and describe what the door or gate is doing.

Garage Door Repair

Doors that shudder, sag, stall halfway or come down crooked. We sort out cables, rollers, hinges, tracks and panels so the door travels smoothly again.

Broken Spring Repair

Heard a bang like a gunshot in the garage on a frigid morning? That is usually a torsion spring giving out. We replace it and rebalance the door.

Opener Repair

Remotes that stop responding, motors that hum without lifting, safety eyes that blink red after a snowstorm. We troubleshoot chain, belt, screw and wall-mount units.

Garage Door Installation

Replacing a tired, drafty door? We help you weigh insulated options, measure the opening and install a new door with fresh hardware and weather seals.

Gate Repair

Swing and slide gates that bind on ice, motors that quit in the cold, keypads and sensors buried by plow spray. We get driveway gates moving again.

Gate Installation

New automated driveway gates planned around frost, snow storage and the way your property is actually used through all four seasons.

Garage Door Maintenance

A pre-winter or spring check of springs, cables, rollers, seals and opener settings so small issues get handled before the thermometer drops.

Reasons Twin Cities Homeowners Call Loyalty

  • Reachable 24 hours a day. Doors and gates fail at inconvenient times. Our phone line is staffed around the clock, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Local to the metro. We work across Minneapolis, St. Paul and the surrounding suburbs, so we understand what freeze-thaw cycles, road salt and heavy snow do to moving hardware here.
  • Doors and gates under one roof. Instead of juggling two contractors, you can call one number for garage door work and driveway gate work alike.
  • Repair and installation. Whether your existing door only needs a new part or it is time for a full replacement, we handle both, and we will tell you plainly which one makes sense.

Why Cold Weather Is Hard on Garage Doors

Steel springs become more brittle as temperatures fall, and a spring that was already near the end of its cycle life often chooses the coldest morning of the year to break. Grease in tracks and opener gears thickens, making motors strain. Rubber bottom seals freeze to concrete overnight, and meltwater that refreezes along the threshold can glue a door in place. Meanwhile, salt brine tracked in on tires sits on the lower panels and track brackets, quietly working on rust.

None of this means your door is doomed. It means a little seasonal attention pays off, and that when something does give out, it helps to have a crew that has seen it before. If your door is frozen down, avoid forcing it with the opener; disconnect the opener, gently free the seal, and call us if it will not budge.

Questions We Hear Often

My garage door is frozen to the floor. What should I do?

Do not keep pressing the wall button, because the opener can strip gears or bend the top panel trying to pull against the ice. Pull the red release cord, try lifting by hand, and if the seal is stuck, warm air from a hair dryer or a plastic scraper along the bottom edge usually frees it. If the door still will not move or feels unusually heavy, call us.

Is it safe to open the door after a spring breaks?

We advise against it. The spring carries most of the door’s weight, so without it the door can be extremely heavy and may drop suddenly. Leave it closed if possible and let a technician handle the replacement.

Can you come out in the middle of the night?

Our line is answered 24 hours a day. Call (612) 688-3103 and we will talk through the situation and arrange the soonest available visit.

Do you service driveway gates as well as garage doors?

Absolutely. Driveway gates are a core part of our work: swing styles, slide styles, the operators that move them, and the keypads and sensors that control them, alongside full garage door service.

Should I choose an insulated door for a Minnesota home?

For attached garages, heated garages or rooms above the garage, an insulated door generally helps keep the space warmer and quieter. We can walk you through the options during an estimate visit.

Why does my opener reverse every time it snows?

The safety sensors near the floor are often blocked by snow, ice or a bumped bracket. Clear and dry the lenses, make sure both indicator lights are steady, and if the problem continues we can realign or replace the sensors.
